4 Years Ago

June 19th, 2009 was a special day for both my hubby and myself.  This day was one that actually I looked forward to more than my wedding day!  It was the day we got sent out!  For those who don't know what that is, basically its the day that you are announced before a large conference body that you and your husband are going to leave your mother church and go start a church of your own in another city.  Your mother church completely supports you until you are able to support yourself.  It's not an easy endeavor to build a church from grass roots, but quite a fulfilling calling!
Last night during our Wednesday service it dawned on me that, that night four years ago Pastor Warner said "Into North York Canada, Gary & Victoria".  I remember us being so excited we got up before he even finished the announcement.  I waved a quick goodbye to my friends seated with me, and took a long walk to the stage to stand with all the other couples that were announced!

Here we are 4 years later.  We have come a long way.  Our first service only has 12 people.  We now have roughly 60.  We are so privileged to be giving our lives to the cause of Christ.  I have learned so much over the past 4 years and am thankful to be in the city we were sent to!  I have said it and will say it again we have THE BEST church in the entire world!  They truly are our family!
