Mondays With Lady Vee: There's a Battle....

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places Ep 6:12

While this is a scripture I have always known by heart, it has only been by default.  I have heard it in sermon after sermon, quoted by others, shouted in prayers and have glanced over it in my personal readings.  But this past week the Lord has quickened this scripture and thought to my heart.

I am in a Battle. I am in a war and if I don't fight, I will be taken out by the enemy. And takend out QUICK! Yes I have always known that in "theory", but what about in deed?  Its just this past week as I have experienced some things in my own life and heart, moments of desperate prayer and the  overwhelming attacks fromt he enemy showed me this is NOT a physical battle.

The Devil is out to get me and to get you! He fools us into thinking its physical.  He wants us to focus on that brother or sister that has offended us, the fight we had with our spouse, how good a little comprimise feels.  He fools us into thinking that we are fighting those things, yet behind the scenes he is planting, demons, seeds and sending firey darts to inundate our minds into believing "well this is just how I feel".

Last week I watched the famous movie "The Pilgrams Progress" by Joh Bunyan.  It once again brought me to the realization this is a Spiritual Battle and Spiritual Walk.  If we are battling something, we can't just expect to get over it by merely physical restraints. You can take someone who is addicted to drugs away from the drugs for a time and they may "seem" to be delivered, but once they resume to normal life, 9/10 they will resume to drug addition!  Thats why Alcohol Annonyms meetings seldom work.  This is not just a physical issue but the physical issue is a manifistation of whats going on in the spiritual.

So if we are fighting a spiritual battle we must use Spiritual Weapons to fight!

So Ladies, what is your favorite Spiritual Scripture Weapon?

  1. John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

I remember and pray this verse remembering that Jesus wants LIFE for us and relationship with him and others. Saying this verse out loud reminds satan what I think of him--he is a thief, a liar, a robber, and someone who I will NOT allow in my life. Amen!

Great post Vee--you are always spurring me on to a deeper walk.

    1. Thanks for sharing your "spiritual weapon". Its so good to call the Devil what he really is! A thief, liar and destroyer...he tries to present himself as one out for your best interest! Yeah right!

  2. the famous answer: Prayer! But looking beyond that I always remind myself I need to have control over my mind. What thought I entertain and thoughts I have to take dominion over right away. I think holding someone accountable to things are always important cause they can help you and hold you accountable to things. Thanks for all your post Vic, I always read them just never comment, lol I'm trying my best though! :)
