Mondays with Lady Vee: Seasons

Lets chat.....

There are times in life when everything is going just right!  The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and all is well with the world.   You think things like "I am the luckiest person alive".  Everything puts a smile on your face, and you're just so thankful for the gift of life!

Then there are other seasons.  Those dark seasons that lurk around the corner of a good season.  Those seasons where it seems  there will never be light at the end of the tunnel.  Seasons when your heart aches continually and you're just not so grateful for the gift of Life.  As a matter of fact-death actually sounds like a better option (not suicide, but just something that will take you away to Heaven)

Ever have those moments?  Where you would rather be anywhere but here!  What do you do during those moments?  How do you get through your nightmares of life?  Your darkest trials? How do you cope?  I was spending time with a dear friend on friday and we were talking about trials. I was telling her how I want to have dominion over my trials.  The devil always sneaks up on me from behind, but I want to be able to counteract every weapon formed against me with the truth of God so it will not prosper!

Hard seasons come, and then hard season go!  Good seasons come, and then good seasons go!  And then there are all those other gray days in between! So ladies, please share, whats your method of coping through a rough season?

Mine has always been this thought: And this too shall pass...........what about you?

  1. For me I assess everything. I ask myself why could/is this happening. I look at the situation and examine it from all angles. I usually become challenged to do something to change my situation. Perhaps connect with people more, if I feel alone, or try to establish something new into my routine. I find that life just has its ups & downs, but there is usually something we can do to help shorten those down times, and increase the up times. And when all else fails, finding someone to talk to and share with really makes a difference for me, whether that be a person or just a quiet time of prayer in God's sight.

    1. thanks so much for sharing! I like the idea of examining from all angels, very good! A different perspective can be all the difference in a bad season!

  2. I know you're already a praying girl, so I'll leave that thought unexplained. Of course, laying it at the feet of Jesus is more liberating than anything else we can do. But, I also give myself some time each day- just cut out for me, doing something that inspires me or makes me feel calm and peaceful. If I plan this time at the beginning of the day, I have the whole day to look forward to it, and it keeps me skipping- even during difficult times.

    1. Excellentidea, to plan for something you like to do, and look forward to doing it all day! I rarely think of that during yuck seasons, but having a bit of fun would be an awesome thing to do! I will keep that in mind...and your rigth about prayer....thats essential in a rough season! Thank you for commenting! :)

  3. Vee this is SO good!! This recent dark season for us was a major trial. We have swung everywhere from being Spirit-led and being in the Word, to totally sinful and rejecting God's love and mercies. When we try to do it on our own we FAIL. It is always proven true that when we run to Him, he wraps us up and gives us more of his heart than we deserve.

We also call our the stupid devil for the deceiver that he really is and stand firm on Go's truth being spoken and prayed out loud!! What do you DO lady?! I want to learn from your wisdom and thoughts.

    1. I feel like I first hand watched you through your darker seasons....from what I read....y'all did good!:)
What do I do? Mmmh....well first I always remember that it's temporary....I am big on reading. So I tend to read when I am stressed. Bible, Christian book, information on the net. I educate myself on the situation. For example: after I had Miya I had some serious health issue which lead to a hemmorage, I was sick for months, which lead to a very dreary depressing season. One thing I remember doing was learning all about hemorrages, depression, and I read this lovely book about pastors wives and their pressures. It took my mind off things....or it helped me understand how to cope. For another dark season I had a couple years back....I literally had to eat breath and sleep Gods word. the attack was sent straight from hell and all I could do was fend of Gods word for dear life. It all depends what your dark season consists of...but I would like to have the victory over my seasons before they start. Usually it creeps up. I feel defeated and then get victory....I want to see it coming...tackle it head on.....and then have the victory all the way through....one day! Lol
