Jamaica Wins!
Ever since I was a little girl, Track& Field has been my favorite sport.  I would race all the boys during recess, because the girls were too slow for me.  I would leave the boys in the dust recess after recess!  I continued track through out high school and still enjoy running to this day!

So this goes without saying that the Olympic Track Competition was a very exciting time for me!  Being half Jamaican I am extremely proud of their runners!   Being half Canadian on the other hand I was very disappointed to see the last minute disqualification in the very last race of the Olympics.  It was the 4 by 1 relay and Canada had won bronze, but after some inspection, the judges  disqualified for them stepping on the line! (clutches heart in anguish

I don't know if any of you were watching this race...but after Jamaica won (Ya mon!), US second, and there was Canada in third!  This is a huge victory for Canadians to win 3rd place in the Finale Race of the Olympics.  If you watched the faces of the runners, they were ecstatic.  Everything they had trained for  had just came into reality!  The crowd was excited, it was almost as if Jamaica's win was irrelevant!  We all love to see Underdogs win! They were getting all the air time on tv, the entire stadium was celebrating this amazing moment!  Until the dreaded happened.  Their worst fears became an real nightmare ...their names flashed up on the screen in red for disqualification.

How the atmosphere of that room changed.  The runners faces went from joy to utter anguish.  Even my heart sank as I could not imagine what it would be like to think you had won an Olympic medal, only to have it snatched from me in a moments time.

God revealed to me that we too are apart of  Spritual Olympics and how this little race represents alot of the world today.  This "World" represents the Canadian Team. They think they have won, they are enjoying life, indulging in sin, partying and celebrating. The Saints represent Jamaica.  The race has already been won for us! When Canada came in 3rd, they weren't concerned that Jamaica had won, they had won Bronze and thats all that mattered!  Also many of the viewers lost focus that Jamaica had one and turned there attentions to "Canada's Victory"  (how many christians can do that, look at the world and think they are better off!) The world thinks they have something, one day unbeknownst to them, they will face eternal judgment.  As I watched this race, I literally felt chillls go down my spine as God brought this comparison to my mind.

‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you!' Luke 12:20  How we think that we have forever, we don't have to make a choice for Christ for today, we think we have already won.

Now we can say thats all fine and dandy, we are  on the winning team, we don't have to worry!  But are you?  What if the Canadian Team doesn't just represent sinners but saints as well? How often saints put off the convictions of God for another day? How often do we become religious and just think we are okay because we are running the race!  The Bible says:" Do you not know that ALL the runners run, but only one gets the prize, run in such a way that you may be able to obtain the prize and not be DISQUALIFIED"  Yikes...just a fraction of a step of coarse cost Canada there Medal.  How much more so your soul?

Canada genuinely won 3rd place, but they disqualified themselves by breaking a rule!  Yes, you may be following Jesus and outwardly appear to be winning, but if we aren't careful our actions can disqualify us from the race and on Judgment day we could be saying : 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' and the Lord will tell us.....
Life is but a vapor we are but here a little while and then vanish....
"Depart from me....I NEVER KNEW YOU! Matt 7:22
